Open source alternatives to Trello

I want to build something around the Trello workflow that utilizes AI for small tasks. Here are some open source alternatives to build on:

Focalboard has 30k stars on GitHub but is no longer maintained.

Wekan has 20k stars on GitHub and is actively maintained. The design looks a bit Spartan.

OpenProject has 10k stars on GitHub, is actively maintained and brands itself as the “Best open source Trello alternative.” It looks more like a full on project management suite though, might be a bit heavy weight.

The bigger question is, what does an open-source, GenAI native Trello alternative look like?
