Pricing model at Replit
Replit has a pay-per-request pricing model. I wonder how this fares with the average user. The first thing that confused me was seeing that 5¢/edit request. What is an edit request? How many will a prompt result in?
With my user hat on, I would think “why do I need to calculate, or even consider, the number of tokens I use?”. I probably prefer to pay a monthly fee (monthly recurring revenue) to have one less thing to think about.
They do have pay-monthly plans, but the entry level for paid plans is $25 of monthly credits, which translates to ~100 Agent checkpoints. That’s two more things I as a user have to relate to: credits and checkpoints.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall on some of their user feedback calls.
